What Is the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship?
The Eiffel Scholarship is a prestigious program managed by the the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and promoted via Campus France. Its goal is to help French higher‑education institutions attract outstanding international students for Master’s and PhD studies.
Key points:
-
It’s selective and competitive.
-
You cannot apply directly to Eiffel. Only French universities/institutions can nominate students.
-
The scholarship covers a stipend, travel costs, insurance, and some services; but tuition fees are generally not covered.
-
The scholarship duration depends on the level (Master’s or PhD) and the year of entry.
Who Can Apply & What Fields Are Eligible?
Eligibility
-
You must be a citizen of a country other than France. Dual nationals where one nationality is French are not eligible.
-

 • Master’s applicants are generally required to be 29 years old or younger at the time of selection.

-
You must be applying (or already admitted) to a full‑time Master’s or PhD program in France, in a domain that qualifies.

How to Apply: Step by Step

Choose your French university / program
Find a Master’s or PhD program in France that aligns with your goals and the eligible fields. Check whether that university participates or supports Eiffel applications.
-

-
Apply to the academic program
Submit the regular admission application for your chosen program (sometimes via Campus France or the institution’s admission portal). You must satisfy all admission requirements to be considered.
-

If the university agrees, they will prepare your Eiffel application dossier and submit it to Campus France before the deadline (January 8, 2026). You do not submit it yourself.
-
