Study at Russia

The Russian Government Scholarship 2026/2027 is a fully funded program offered by the Government of the Russian Federation and operated by the Russian House in Indonesia. This annual scholarship provides international students with the opportunity to pursue undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and clinical specialization programs at top universities across Russia.

The scholarship covers tuition fees for the entire duration of study and offers a unique chance to experience Russia’s rich history, culture, and innovation while building global academic and professional networks. Students can study in various disciplines, from engineering, medicine, and social sciences to arts and humanities in leading institutions located in cities such as Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Vladivostok.

Applicants do not need prior proficiency in the Russian language. Those admitted to programs taught in Russian will receive a free one-year preparatory language course before starting their degree program.

Eligibility:

  • Indonesian citizens (no age limit)
  • Minimum GPA 3.5 / average grade 85 or above
  • In good physical and mental health (medical check-up required)
  • English or Russian motivation letter required
  • For English-taught programs: minimum level B1 (no TOEFL/IELTS needed)

Required Documents

  1. Passport (valid until at least March 2028)
  2. Academic transcript and diploma (or temporary transcript & graduation letter)
  3. Medical check-up (HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B/C, Tuberculosis)
  4. Motivation letter (in English or Russian)
  5. Personal data processing consent form (from the website)
  6. Other supporting documents (certificates, publications, portfolio – optional)

Application process

  1. Create an account at https://education-in-russia.com
  2. Choose one study program and up to six universities
  3. Upload all required documents for Stage 1
  4. Pass an interview (in-person or online via Zoom)
  5. Upload legalized and translated documents for Stage 2
  6. Receive university placement and visa guidance from Russian House
